Franchere Havlin Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
OREGON APPROVED! A perfect pinot noir. Why? Because you'll finish the bottle and then wish you had another one always on hand.
Winemaker notes:
The Havlin Vineyard is located in the middle of the Willamette Valley’s coolest AVA, the Van Duzer Corridor.
This Pinot noir – from the classically cool 2019 vintage – is bright, fresh, and already delicious, but there's a lot more going on than super-fresh red fruit.
The aroma suggests crimini mushrooms, vivid black cherry, nutmeg, and hoisin sauce. It's equally vivid on the palate, with very primary black cherry, a nice presence at mid-palate, and grippy yet well-integrated tannin.
Agreeable now and ageable if you want to go there.
33% whole cluster. 17 months in used French oak, racked once before bottling, unfined and unfiltered, no additions other than minimally effective sulfites.
